A total of five swastikas were discovered at the Masonic Lodge and the Aldrich Museum, drawn in green marker in various sizes. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) subsequently announced that it is offering a $2,000 reward to anyone that helps lead to the conviction of the person responsible.
According to police, the swastikas are believed to have been drawn by the same person. Swastikas were also discovered on a classroom door in Ridgefield High School in November, on a table at the school in September and at Ballard Park last summer.
Anyone with information regarding the swastikas, or who wishes to submit a tip can call Det. Tom Dardis or Officer Anthony McMahon by calling (203) 438-6531.
“We hope this reward facilitates the quick apprehension of whoever is behind this upsetting outbreak of swastika and hateful vandalism in Ridgefield,” ADL Connecticut Regional Director Steve Ginsburg stated. “We commend the Ridgefield Police Department for investigating these hateful acts and First Selectman Marconi for his support.
“We cannot allow this hateful vandalism to go unchecked in Ridgefield, or anywhere else.”
